VIS-A-VIS
VIS-A-VIS
VIS-A-VIS was a self-directed project consisting of interviews with friends of mine from the Visual Studies department at the University of Toronto.
I envisioned VIS-A-VIS as a platform where readers would not only appreciate the art of visual studies students but also get to know their personalities and learn about their unique creative processes and influences.
Each VIS-A-VIS issue has its own unique colour palette inspired by the work of the artist. Below are samples and links to the full interviews of the three issues.

Reflection
It was cool to see how all the issues came together once they were completed, highlighting the unique stories and influences of the artists under the same VIS-A-VIS interview format.
Though at a small scale, this project helped foster the work of my visual studies friends. I also like to think it may have inspired a larger community of young creatives who stumbled upon the interviews as they were shared from person to person. At the same time, VIS-A-VIS allowed me to work on my editorial design skills, figuring out what works and what does not within this design practice. Since this was an entirely digital publication, I would try to further explore print physical outputs next time I work on an editorial project.
