During my time as a Junior Designer in Leo Burnett I got to work on Bell’s 2022 Annual Report cover and layout style. We explored a variety of iterations for its cover ranging from abstract shapes to photo treatments. Ultimately, we landed in a macro shot of clouds in the sky representing a brighter future for the company, which complimented the theme of “Better Bell” as we called it. My CD and I appreciated that this abstracted photo of clouds created an interesting texture so we spent quite a bit of time finding the most interesting section to focus on.

The Cover
Out of a variety of approaches, the client selected a type-driven approach that is based on a rolodex. “Better Bell” stands for a multitude of things, so we tried capturing it all using the rolodex technique.
