The Habit Factory
Habit Factory
The Habit Factory is a start-up founded by two OCAD graduates whose main goal is to empower the upcoming generation of creative thinkers and doers. Habit Factory hosts two online workshops that aim to help new professionals hone their skills in UI/UX and embark on a short but productive journey of self-growth.
Alongside 5 other designers, our task was to provide a refreshed identity including a new logo, typography, colour palette, graphic elements, social media templates, and website redesign.
We provided a number of visual directions based on a brand audit and continued forward with my proposal which was further built and refined as a team. Habit Factory’s re-brand keeps their friendly, outgoing personality, introduces a gamut of joyful colours for a variety of applications, while establishing a professional tone to set Habit Factory up for success.

Graphic Elements – Badge System

About the badge system
We introduced a badge system to extend the attendee experience outside the online workshops, and reinforce Habit Factory’s positive and encouraging personality throughout social media platforms.
Our clients provided us with the written prompts and I came up with the illustrations that would go alongside each of them.
Thanks to our team’s capability, we also incorporated fun animations to make the badges come to life.
Website Redesign
Home page

Programs page

For the new Habit Factory website, we chose to leverage the new bright colour palette and use them as colour blocks throughout the website’s sections.
Overall, our main goal was to retain the friendly nature of the program while still making it practical and informative.

Reflection
Update*: The Habit Factory has since rebranded again :’(
However, they retained the logo we made for them.
This was a very rewarding project. I was proud to see the concept become a reality and appreciated how the other designers and myself worked together to make it happen– each adding our own expertise to the table. It was also special to work with such great clients with an amazing vision of their business.
